Growth

Since being founded in November 2009, Burrow has quickly grown to include eight wholly owned subsidiaries and several strategic joint ventures located in five domestic offices (Houston, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Crystal City, and Clear Lake, Texas), one international office (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), and two fabrication facilities (Crystal City and Henderson, Texas). Burrow is now a global player in the provision of engineering and construction services for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients and specializes in process automation, industrial buildings, turnaround management, heat tracing, plant commissioning, start-ups, and plant operations.

While acquisitions have played a major role in Burrow?s success, its organic growth has been even more impressive. In the spring of 2010, Burrow?s staffing levels peaked at 80 employees. Since then, the company has grown nominally to over 640 employees and expects to exceed 800 by January 2012 with continued growth for the foreseeable future.

Organizational Changes

As an initial step to further strengthen the company?s position in the Beaumont market, Dave Hill has joined the company as the President of Burrow Global Services, Beaumont Division. Mr. Hill has significant operations and business development experience from his 30 years in the construction and engineering field. In sync with Burrow's growth culture, Hill's background includes being part owner of a Baton Rouge engineering firm that grew from 30 to 300 employees in two years; starting that firm's first controls/automation group from scratch to become 70% of revenues in less than one year; and starting "Plant Engineering Services, LLC" in Baton Rouge, LA and Pasadena, TX for Fluor Corporation that grew from one person to over 150 in less than six months.

Reporting directly to Mr. Hill, Leroy Faulk has been retained as the Vice President and General Manager of the Beaumont Division. Mr. Faulk brings over 36 years of experience in various roles including President, Vice President of Operations, Manager of Projects, and Engineering and Operations for local engineering and construction firms.

Additionally, Burrow has engaged Doug Eckols as the Vice President of Quality at the parent company level. Previously, Mr. Eckols has served variously as Executive Vice President - Human Resources, Engineering and Business Development, and owner/founder in former companies in which Michael Burrow served as the Chief Executive.

Meredith Barnes, formerly Corporate Controller, has been named Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration. Ms. Barnes will now oversee the day-to-day accounting and treasury functions, human resources, IT, and internal procurement services for all Burrow companies. She joined Burrow earlier this year and has more than 20 years of expertise in accounting for engineering and construction firms.

Ron Chapman has joined as the Civil/Structural Engineering Manager for the Beaumont Division. Previously, Mr. Chapman served as the structural engineering department head for another Beaumont firm and has over 34 years of experience in the industry. He has also worked as part of the management team in former Burrow-managed organizations.

Lastly, Donald Moyers, former Vice President of Demar Industrial Construction, a Burrow company, will assume the role of Vice President of the Plant Division for Burrow Global Construction. Mr. Moyers previously played an instrumental role in allowing Burrow to become a self-performing contractor in construction services. He brings more than 46 years of experience in refining & midstream sectors and will now consolidate the Demar Industrial Construction Division into Burrow Global Construction.

I believe they are what novels should be and have never been. For several reasons. E.g. I have written the first wordless novel. Tolstoy's translator complained that Tolstoy had no style. Tolstoy was trying to make his words disappear, as I do. The sole purpose of words in a novel is evocation. They should never break their spell by drawing attention to themselves. Few can read Dickens and Melville today because of their words- a Sargasso Sea of Victorian bilge. I am not saying this with invisible words because I want you to ponder my words and read slowly. Nietzsche was right to inveigh against speed reading."

Stahl cites a second reason why his work is unique. "My novels are pure art. I wrote them for myself, as Emerson said the artist must do. And for millions of kindred selves. Does this mean that Zombie Nation will not enjoy my novels? No. I've worked with Zombies; they enjoy them immensely. They just don't appreciate my humor. The authoress makes an Uncle Toms Cabin of this, in which the belle mullattes loathe their concubinage and long for the fields (jump down, turn around, pick a bale of cotton). They lay awake at night fearing that their de facto husbands will sell their own children. Dan Browns' latest is even more preposterous. We learn that the pharmacist and REALTOR who belong to the local Masonic Lodge, men we thought we knew, run the risk of evisceration if they divulge Masonic secrets. Zombies have supped on this fare for generations. My mission, their dezombification, will be a daunting one."

Digital View has announced the release of a new ?all-in-one? HDSDI & 3G support LCD interface controller. The ALR-1920-SDI combines HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort and SDI inputs for TFT panels upto WUXGA resolution (1920x1200).

Designed for monitor builders and display integrators working in the exacting environments of the professional video market, the ALR-1920-SDI takes the original Digital View ALR-1920 platform and integrates 1.5Gbits and 3Gbit bit rate SDI input signal support to create a compact, low cost and easy-to-integrate single board HDSDI package.

The ALR-1920-SDI offers full industry compliance to SMPTE standards 292M, 259M-C, 424M & 425M. It offers HDMI 1.3, single-link DisplayPort 1.1a and VGA input for resolutions ranging from VGA to WUXGA (PC) or 480i to 1080P (Video). It also has a re-clocked SDI loop-through and further outputs for stereo audio from SDI, HDMI and DisplayPort signals with embedded audio.

The ALR-1920-SDI is an extremely flexible controller with installed support for over 700 LCD panels from leading manufacturers such as Samsung, Sharp, LG, NEC, Optrex, Chi Mei and AUO. Even with the compact board design (184.99mm x 93.5mm x 13.53mm), the ALR-1920-SDI offers an onboard power supply with both 12 and 24 volt DC input, and provides panel power for 3.3V, 5V, 12V or 18V LCD displays. The On Screen Display provides an enhanced user interface for audio and video adjustments, and can be controlled via digital button boards, surface mount membrane switches, RS-232 commands or infra-red remote control.

KVMSwitchTech Announces Release of Fully Customizable 8x8 HDMI Video Matrix Switch

Video Matrix Switch technology is a well established technology that is commonly used in a variety of industries ranging from hospitality, bars and restaurants, digital signage / outdoor advertising, and home entertainment centers. Where a standard Video Splitter allows a single source to be displayed on multiple monitors, a Video Matrix Switch allows multiple video sources to be displayed across multiple displays and projectors. Video Matrix Switches are available in a wide array of options including Composite, Component, S-Video, VGA, DVI, and HDMI. HDMI is quickly becoming the standard of choice in most of these applications as it offers high definition video and audio capabilities through the use of a single cable.

Another piece of equipment that is often required to effectively use a Video Matrix Switch is a video extender. Powered extenders are needed for transmitting signals to greater distances as signal degradation increases due to interference from nearby power sources and cable limitations. Not only are the individual ports customizable, but it also allows for user control through front panel push buttons, DHCP compliant IP configuration, software control using a RS232 port, or an included IR remote control. This effectively makes it a scalable matrix ranging from a 2x2 for initial cost savings up to 8x8. It is built into a 1U chassis for mounting into a 19? rack and ships with all the necessary mounting equipment. It is important to note that, while it is designed with powered remote receivers for video extension, there are non-powered options available as well for use in areas where a sufficient number of outlets are not available.
