SMS Marketing Campaigns Drive Nearly 30 Percent of Monthly Revenues for Local Hip Hop Clothing and Night Club Business in Just Two Days

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) December 19, 2011

Armory Survival Gear, a leading Southern California-based street-wear and events company is using Trumpia?s SMS text marketing solution as part of its cross-channel promotions strategy to boost in-store traffic and attendance at international dance events.

The company routinely orchestrates multi-channel marketing campaigns, whereby it orchestrates its promotions, using SMS marketing and social media sites including Facebook. Besides frequent sales on merchandise, the business also hosts dance party style events locally like the weekly, Thursday night Generations party and multiple break dance (Bboy) contests and events monthly such as Freestyle Session, which is held around the world in various locations.

One way that the retail business has built its mobile text marketing database is by advertising its mobile keyword on its website, inviting people to text the word ?Armory? to 99000 and then receive a mobile coupon for 20 percent off of their purchase.

For a competitive edge, the retailer conducted a twist on the traditional Black Friday holiday sales event by holding an additional sale on a different day -- right before Thanksgiving ? which it dubbed Black Wednesday.

Armory Survival Gear used Trumpia?s SMS marketing solution the day before each sale, offering discounts of up to 70 percent to its VIP customers. As a result, the retailer effectively and affordably realized 30 percent of its average monthly revenues in just two days ? without the extensive pre-planning activities and expenditures required of traditional advertising campaigns.

And by orchestrating a campaign for each of its Freestyle Session events, the company enjoys great success ? typically with upwards of 1000 or more attendees per event. The Thursday night Generations party gets roughly about 300 per week, which fills the event to capacity at U-31 in North Park, the venue where it is held.

?The ability to provide spur of the moment, up to the minute alerts allows us to capitalize on the fact that most of our audience prefers to receive information that they can use immediately,? said DJ CROS1, owner and head of marketing and operations for Armory Survival Gear. ?Trumpia lets us affordably and quickly grow our business, make adjustments along the way and widely reach our customers who are typically on the go and always have their mobile phones nearby.?

?People are interested in building rapport and regularly engaging with local businesses that they like and trust,? said Derek Rhie, director of sales and support for Trumpia. ?Armory Survival Gear?s use of Trumpia is a perfect example of how our platform can help businesses and organizations turn ongoing conversations into real profits, combining the power of SMS marketing, social media messaging and other popular channels like IM and email."

Local Partnerships Ring Registers

(PRWEB) April 07, 2011

April has historically been an event heavy month for Stillwater. However, this year the Convention and Visitors Bureau, Eskimo Joe?s, OSU Athletics, the City of Stillwater, Red Bull, and many other organizations and attractions are working together to brand April 15-17, ?Legends Weekend?.

It has been my hope for several years to grow the OSU Spring Football Game to more of a tourism event for OSU and Stillwater. Evolving the game into more along the lines of what is experienced in other university communities, both the local economy and OSU will benefit.

This year everything seemed to suddenly come together when I was contacted by both Alex Goodpaster, who is representing OSU football alumni activities held in conjunction with the OSU Spring Football Game and by R & D Talent representing Joe King and the Diamond JK Band. Joe played football for OSU and went on to play in the NFL. He has been playing, writing and recording music for over six years and has a song entitled, ?Down in Stillwater Oklahoma?, where he mentions Eskimo Joe?s and the Tumbleweed.

A quick meeting with representatives from Eskimo Joe?s and OSU Athletics moved many of the game day ?Hall of Fame Block Party? activities to Elm Street Saturday, followed by Joe and his band performing on an outdoor stage, and ?Legends Weekend? was born.

The longest running Stillwater event, the 34th Annual Stillwater Art Festival, and the OSU Orange and White Football Spring Game are only two of the featured events for the weekend. Additionally, Red Bull will be presenting the Gypsy Caf? at four popular venues, spotlighting red dirt music artists who began and continue to gain notoriety for the genre of music that originated in Stillwater. The Remember the Ten Run, a tribute to the ten members of the OSU family who perished in a plane crash, will take place through the OSU campus.

Additionally, the Friends of the Library will be holding their annual Spring Book Sale, Slick Willie and the Right Cats and Sonny D. and the Invisibles will perform at the Community Center and OSU Softball and Tennis will be competing against Big 12 Conference rivals.

A special thanks to Tim Holland, General Manager at Eskimo Joe?s; Amy Weeks, OSU Associate Athletic Director/ Senior Woman Administrator; Sherry Fletcher, City of Stillwater Manager, Marketing and Public Relations; and Amy Jo Frazier, City of Stillwater Recreation Supervisor - Aquatics, Concessions, Special Events for being so quick to jump on board and make ?Legends Weekend? a reality. Legends Weekend is by far the best example of cross promoting on the part of all parties involved that I have experienced in my career.

It will clearly take coordination in scheduling activities on the part of all the participating organizations in order to continue future growth of ?Legends Weekend? to the benefit the entire community. As a community, we all also need to support and attend all of these locally held events in order to continue their growth year after year.
