Bend, OR (PRWEB) July 28, 2011

Early bird registration is now available for the 3rd Annual Bend WebCAM Conference geared toward ?web geeks and creative and marketing freaks.? It is scheduled for Sept. 29-30, 2011, at the Tower Theatre and Oxford Hotel in Bend.

?Bend WebCAM is a hybrid conference that offers something for everyone involved in the technical or creative aspects of marketing,? said Cam Davis, owner of Wordplay and a co-chair of the conference hosted by the Advertising Federation of Central Oregon (http://www.adfedco.org) and Pixelsilk (http://www.pixelsilk.com).

?The conference is an amazing opportunity for anyone wishing to blend technology and creativity into a successful 21st century business plan,? he explained. ?It offers three tracks: the Left Brain Track, which dives deep into the technical side of marketing, including SEO, social media and mobile marketing; the Right Brain Track, which focuses on the creative, emotional and imaginative methods of communicating; and the Hybrid Track that successfully merges the two.

This year?s conference is organized a bit differently than in the past. Thursday will feature five in-depth workshops with industry experts in local search marketing, SEO, creative branding, and social media. Participants can attend workshops individually for $ 129 each or buy an all-workshop pass for $ 249.

Friday will feature a full roster of keynotes and workshops offered by industry notables, such as Rand Fishkin, CEO of SEOmoz.org, Tim Ash, CEO of SiteTuners.com; and Andy Smith, author of The Dragonfly Effect. Friday only passes are $ 249, or participants can get a discounted full-conference pass for $ 479. Thursday and two-day passes also include admission to the Brew Ha-Ha social on Thursday evening.

?Bend WebCAM is growing in stature each year,? said Lynnette Braillard, marketing director for Visit Bend and co-chair of the event. ?We are gaining the reputation as a must-do conference because of the level of expertise we offer in state-of-the-art and cutting edge discussions, but also because of Bend as the destination.?

?Attendees get some great professional development and creative stimulation over the two-day conference, and then they get to enjoy Bend over the weekend,? Braillard said.

The 2011 Bend WebCAM is made possible by sponsors like Pixelsilk, Decipher Inc. G5, Audette Media, SEMpdx, Raven Tools, Buzztag, Connexion Printing Consultants, Dana Signs, Zolo Media, Cascade Business News, Combined Communications, The Source Weekly and The Bulletin.

Web Usability and Conversion Experts Steve Krug, Tim Ash & Amy Africa to Keynote Conversion Conference East, October 19-20, 2011, New York City

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 23, 2011

For the first time ever, Conversion Conference, the world?s first and biggest professional event focused exclusively on conversion rate optimization, will be held in the center of the advertising and marketing world -- New York City. Conference highlights include keynote addresses by usability expert and author Steve Krug (?Don?t Make Me Think,? ?Rocket Surgery Made Easy?), landing page testing pioneer Tim Ash (author, ?Landing Page Optimization?) and internet sales guru Amy Africa.

In an era when marketers are investing more and more of their budgets in online initiatives, understanding the issues affecting conversion rate optimization is critical. While billions of dollars are spent in generating website traffic through search strategies, banner ads, email marketing, social and mobile, only a small fraction of marketing departments have initiatives focused on enhancing the user experience and making it easier for website visitors to become customers.

?Getting more conversions from online initiatives has always been viewed as an afterthought or a nice-to-have bonus," says conference founder Tim Ash. "All of the money ? and attention -- has been devoted to buying media in one form or another, but the real ROI comes from fixing your landing pages and improving your conversion rate. This alone can have a huge impact on profitability, independent of your traffic acquisition tactics.?

One of 6 co-located events that comprise Data Driven Business Week, Conversion Conference offers online marketers the chance to learn the latest strategies in website conversion rate optimization from industry leaders such as SiteTuners, MarketingSherpa, WhichTestWon, SiteSpect, WiderFunnel, FutureNow, Conversion Rate Experts, Closed Loop Marketing, Apogee Results, SeeWhy, KISSmetrics, Stratigent, HubSpot, IdeaLaunch, [meta]marketer and BTBuckets. B2B and B2C case studies will be presented by Wine Enthusiast, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, USAData, Expedia, National Instruments, TemplateZone, Webroot Software, Gun Dog Supply and RealNetworks. The full conference agenda can be viewed online at http://www.conversionconference.com/cce11-agenda.html.

For a limited time, through September 2, 2011, registration for Conversion Conference is being offered at a significantly discounted Early Bird rate, with savings up to $ 500 on a 2-day conference pass. For information and to register, visit the Conference website at http://www.conversionconference.com/east/2011/home.html.

frog design Offers Unique View of TEDGlobal 2009 Conference in Special Edition of design mind Magazine

San Francisco, CA /London (PRWeb UK) September 28, 2009

Global innovation firm frog design today released a special edition of its award-winning design mind magazine, devoted exclusively to TEDGlobal (the twin conference of the annual TED conference in Long Beach, California), which took place from July 21-24, 2009 in Oxford, England.

Sixty speakers and performers as well as 700 attendees from diverse backgrounds, disciplines, and cultures came together to explore, discuss, and celebrate the conference theme, "The Substance of Things Not Seen."

frog design, a TEDGlobal partner, also produced the official program guide for TEDGlobal. The special edition of its design mind publication captures key moments of the conference - among them talks by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, author and philosopher Alain de Botton, and Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - and features interviews with and essays from many of the most intriguing TEDGlobal speakers and attendees. Furthermore, the magazine contains behind-the-scenes impressions of "the making of" TEDGlobal as well as observations from the social gatherings and adjunct events at the conference.

Highlights include:

????Icarus Unbound: Adventurer Bertrand Piccard prepares for the first solar-powered flight around the world.
????Behind Closed Doors: Photographer Taryn Simon captures "America's Hidden and Unfamiliar Places."
????Hiding in Plain Sight: Journalist Misha Glenny investigates the underworld of organized crime.
????A New Way to See: Scientist and installation artist Beau Lotto envisions a synesthetic model of education.
????Eyes Can Hear: Pop singer Imogen Heap visualizes her music.
????21st-Century Medievalism: Political scientist Parag Khanna describes the new global powers in a multi-polar world.
????Small World: Willard Wigan's micro-sculptures fit within the eye of a needle.
????Sitopia: Architect Carolyn Steel proposes a new model for feeding the world's expanding cities.
????The D in TED: Journalists Andrian Kreye and Antonia Ward examine the changing concept of design.
????The Wounded Man: Writer Andreas Salcher explains why early childhood traumas break some but motivate others to greater achievements.
????The Invisibles: Writer Becky Blanton reviews her trip to homelessness and back.
????Public Diplomacy 2.0: Digital governance expert Evgeny Morozov argues that governments need to upgrade their social media outreach.

In addition, the magazine includes a special TED bonus session on "The Meaning of Business" with contributions from Beth Comstock, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of GE; Henry Tirri, senior vice president, head of the Nokia Research Center; as well as Dev Patnaik, founder and principal of Jump Associates, and author of the book Wired to Care.

design mind was the first publication invited to fully document a TED conference. Granted unlimited access to TEDGlobal in Oxford, the frog design team returned home with thousands of photographs, as well as books full of notes, sketches, illustrations, and many insights and fascinating encounters.

"Our goal was to turn the ideas presented at TEDGlobal into rich content that extends the dialogue between speakers and audience beyond the conference," said Sam Martin, editor-in-chief of design mind. "It's an opportunity to experience the conference in a different medium and at your own pace. Both those who were there and those who weren't can delve more deeply into the passions and ideas shared at TEDGlobal, and learn more about the topics and the people who took part on-stage and off."

Bruno Giussani, European director of TED, who curated the TEDGlobal 2009 conference and served as the guest editor for the design mind issue, said: "The design mind magazine is a beautiful and compelling publication that provides a new perspective to everyone who follows TEDGlobal. It is both a souvenir and a conversation starter, offering Oxford attendees and the broader TED community a look at the conference that goes far beyond the events it chronicles."

Tim Leberecht, frog design's vice president of marketing and communications, and the publisher of design mind, said: "For a design and innovation firm such as frog, TED is a wonderful gift. TED's philosophy is a perfect match with frog's interdisciplinary approach to creativity and innovation. With the design mind magazine, we hope to add value to the global TED community while at the same time benefiting from first-hand access to some of the world's most remarkable ideas and thinkers. We're very excited about this unique partnership."

The design mind TEDGlobal edition, "The Substance of Things Not Seen," was unveiled at an exclusive TED Salon in London last week, featuring TEDGlobal speakers, contributors to the magazine, and special guests. The magazine will be distributed to the TEDGlobal attendees and through the TED Book Club. It is also available in select bookstores and online at http://designmind.frogdesign.com.

About TED

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then, its scope has broadened to include science, business, the arts, and the global issues facing our world. The annual conference now brings together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives - in 18 minutes. Attendees have called it "the ultimate brain spa" and "a four-day journey into the future." The diverse audience - entrepreneurs, scientists, creatives, philanthropists - is almost as extraordinary as the speakers, who have included Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Sir Richard Branson, Philippe Starck, Isabel Allende and Bono.

TED was first held in Monterey, California, in 1984. In 2001, Chris Anderson's Sapling Foundation acquired TED from its founder, Richard Saul Wurman. In recent years, TED has expanded to include an annual international conference, TEDGlobal; media initiatives, including TEDTalks (available with subtitles in 40+ languages) and TED.com; the TED Fellowship; the TED Prize; and the newly launched TEDx initiative. TEDGlobal 2009, "The Substance of Things Not Seen," was held July 21-24, 2009, in Oxford, UK. TEDIndia will be held in Mysore, India, November 1-4, 2009. TED2010, "What the World Needs Now," will be held February 9-13, 2010, in Long Beach, California, with a TEDActive simulcast event in Palm Springs, California. TEDGlobal 2010, "And Now the Good News," will be held July 13-16, 2010, in Oxford, UK.

California Mortgage Brokers Conference to Focus on Role of Social Networking in Marketing

Garden Grove, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) April 06, 2011

San Francisco real estate agent and Victorian home specialist Bonnie Spindler will speak at the California Mortgage Bankers Association (CMBA) Second Annual Sales and Marketing Conference on April 7 in Garden Grove, California. Spindler will discuss the shift in marketing away from traditional print media to online communications.

?Due to advances in technology, all the growth in marketing is now online, especially through social media sites,? said Spindler, the San Francisco Victorian house specialist. ?What?s amazing to me is how easy and inexpensive it is after the initial set-up.?

According to Spindler, prospective clients can find most businesses online by name, but there are plenty of other ways to increase web presence over the Internet. The more active a person is online, the more exposure?and the easier their ?findability?. Conversely, inactivity can equate to invisibility.

Professionals can publish press releases online through services like PRWeb.com, publish articles online through services like EzineArticles.com, submit articles to niche websites like Home Buying Institute, blog on a regular basis, and participate in forums.

?Think of each action you take online as an investment in future visibility,? said Spindler. ?The more investments you make, the more visible you will be to your target audience.?

For more information about online marketing or real estate in San Francisco contact Bonnie Spindler by phone at (415) 474-4445, or visit her website at http://www.bonniespindler.com.
