Hennessey Performance Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Limited Edition 650 Horsepower Camaro SS

Sealy, TX (PRWEB) October 09, 2011

Automotive tuning company Hennessey Performance (HPE) started 20 years ago when company founder, John Hennessey, began racing his Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 at Bonneville, Pike?s Peak and the Silver State Classic. ?I soon learned the first rule of racing: If you want to make a small fortune in racing, start with a larger fortune?, states John. ?I had a lot of fun developing my car and pushing it to the limits by racing it. But I soon realized that if I were going to be able to continue racing, I had to find a way for it to pay for itself?. Beginning in October of 1991, Hennessey began offering high-performance parts and services to other go-fast enthusiasts.

Twenty years later, Hennessey Performance (HPE) has grown into one of the leading aftermarket tuners in the world. To commemorate the company?s 20th anniversary, Hennessey is offering a limited edition 650 horsepower Camaro SS. Available as a hardtop coupe or convertible, the 20th Anniversary HPE650 Camaro sprints from zero to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds thanks to it?s supercharged 6.2 liter V8 engine.

?We wanted to build something special for our clients and production will be limited to just 20 vehicles. Each one will have it?s own serial number?, said Hennessey CEO, Don Goldman. ?For over 20 years, HPE has been making fast cars go faster. And we are excited to celebrate this milestone with a very special car?.

Each 20th Anniversary Hennessey Camaro will come exclusively in black, with upgraded coilover suspension system, CarbonAero front splitter and side skirts, Hennessey monoblock wheels (chrome or silver finish) plus Hennessey embroidered head rests, floor mats and serial numbered plaques on the interior and under the hood. Hardtop coupes are priced at $ 79,500, with the convertible at $ 84,500.
