How do I boot users off my network?
My internet connection is pretty slow, and often times I cannot get a good connection because the other users on it are pretty much constantly loading YouTube videos, downloading files, etc. - things that use a lot of bandwidth.
This is my home network, that I share with 5 other people in my family, but mostly with my little brother.
Normally, I simply ask him to give me an hour or so on the internet alone, and he complies. However, I got up early today to use the internet when no one else is on, and I discovered that significant bandwidth was still being gobbled up. I then found out that he had left his computer on, presumably doing something bandwidth-intensive, and it's rather irritating that even this early I cannot do much.
Is there a way, without having admin access to the router, to boot users off the network, to deny them much bandwidth, or to "grab" bandwidth from them?
